โInkwell of Shadowsโ sounds intriguing! And I had noticed your post structure for creatures and such. I did a chunk of world building for the underwater city and very little else โฆ and then had to stop and seriously think about what they ate โ and decided not to think tooo much about it and perhaps thatโs just as well because lo and behold the sea rice story came along and answered a bunch of questions (and a new alcoholic drink). I suspect I am a Discovery Worldbuilder.
Love that title: "Kingdom of the Slithering Maze!" And the world building discussion is interesting. I like seeing behind the curtain and learned something, although my story settings are based in our world, but some of the characters aren't. I'm going to repurpose your world building guide for creating magical beings.๐ Thanks!
Thanks, Ann! I am very humbled that I might be some help to your fantastic stories! โค๏ธ๐ and so far Kingdom of the Slithering Maze is a ton of fun to write!!!
I'm on World Anvil too. I love it there. Fulfilling my articles section etc is on my todo list, this month.
You articulated world building so well, and it does apply to all kinds of storytelling.
Thank you! โค๏ธ๐I know what you mean about that todo list. It feels like the more I get done, the more I eventually uncover to write up!
Yep. The more I create here, the more I need to transfer there, it is a never ending cycle. A fun one, butโฆ
Oh yep! I so understand. I still have old notes and files I've yet to transfer over there.

Inkwell of Shadows โฆ hopefully!โฆ should be a really fun read!๐ and a Discoery Worldbuilder? Well, welcome to the club!! ๐โค๏ธ
I know itโs a typo but Iโm having visions of John Travolta moves while working out world buildingโฆ
๐๐๐๐๐ You have a good point! Sometimes I type faster than I should on my phone!
I am totally the same! And autocorrect does weird things sometimes!

โค๏ธ When it's fun to write, it's usually fun to read. In this case, I'd bet on it!
